When the ancient, tried and
true rules of rainbowbridge building are correctly followed, the
sequence of construction and the appearance of the wished for
successes are inevitable and unavoidable. With the determined
goal in mind of eventually affecting the "miracle of crossing"
the rainbowbridge, we need attain some measure of clear perception
as to the six technical stages of the construction of the Antahkarana
and do so by the means of the strict scientific, technical, and
occult work; moreover, the abutements and buttresses of the bridge
will then be securely fastened.
The focus of this letter, this
July 4th, is the 4th technical stage. Simply stated, I would like
to initially say the task of the "sounder" of the Word,
at the 4th technical stage is to realize the inner meaning that
spirit is matter at its highest point, and matter is spirit at
its lowest. This subjective identification involves or results
in the fluid circulation of Monadic life-energy, consciously applied
via the antahkarana as matter-force.
It should not come as a surprise
to students of the Seven Rays to learn that the rainbowbridge,
is finally constructed at the 4th stage, corresponding to the
4th Ray and Mercury - (which rules the bridge). Let us therefore,
briefly consider the 4th vital stage, from out of the six stages.
I assume all students ... are
academically familiar with the six stages of construction.
The projection of the Ray word or phrase
of Power occurs at stage three. When the Ray Word or Phrase
of Power is known and rightly sounded the bridge is rapidly built
and reaches stages of definite outline and structure long before
the individual "sounder" of the Word is aware of it.
Once again, I remind you, the
work of the building of the rainbow bridge of the antahkarana
is primarily an activity of the personality, aided by the soul
which evokes a reaction from the Triad. To build the antahkarana
involves an a highly accelerated, intense mental activity, and
necessitates the dynamic power to imagine and to visualize, plus
a highly dramatic attempt to pictorally build the "Lighted
Way" in mental substance.
There is a great deal of mental
sloth, inertia, and passivity demonstrated by world disciples
as regards second phase antahkarana bridgebuilding work. I have,
in 30 years of work, yet to encounter a single student who is
intelligently working with a Word of Phrase of Power with an inner
comprehension or intelligible grasp of its ray geometry, ray patterns
or spiritual numerology.
We are reminded by D.K.: "There
is no initiation for the disciple until he has begun consciously
to build the antahkarana". Only as we unitedly build the
group antahkarana and begin to function as the Spiritual Triad
within the sphere of the monadic Life will true occult incentive
and inspiration, - (the three points (Buddhas of Activity) of
the Council Chamber) - we so earnesly seek, electrically descend
down or across the planes via the bridge of Power. We will then
know inclusive individual and group participation in the creative
activity of Sanat Kumara's supreme divinity.
Let us proceed then with new vigor
the work of building the antahkarana and rest assured that fresh
light will shine upon our way and revelation will attend our every
step. Our salient initiatory life task, simply put, is to build
the antahkarana, cross the Lighted Way, achieve the freedom of
the Path of Life to ultimately become a "projecting agent
of the Lighted Will".
As we know however, it is not
possible for any of us who has not taken the third initiation
to determine with certainty his monadic ray. All of us do know
or should know by now our soul and personality rays, and when
building the antahkarana, having reached the third stage of projection,
should remember that it is their fused or blended potency which
perform the act of projection.
When, therefore, the ray of your
soul dominates the ray of your personality, then your self becomes
the acting projecting agent, potently enhanced by its union or
fusion with the ray of your lower self. The rays of your three
lower personality vehicles will then be occultly quiescent or
no longer acticve, while only the basic duality of your soul and
personality will remain, and, once again, with no lesser differentiation.
Now, let us proceed to a brief
discussion of the 4th technical stage.
In order to initially aid in our
discussion I would like to offer the following analogy from the
Tibetan. In connection with the 4th stage the Tibetan has said:
"There is a close connection
between the fourth initiation, the quaternary in its evolved
condition - vital body, emotional vehicle, mind and soul - and
the fourth technical stage of building consciously the rainbow
bridge. You have therefore:
1. The Quaternary, the creative
factor on Earth.
2. The fourth initiation, that of the Crucifixion.
3. The fourth technical stage of building the Antahkarana:
1. Sutratma, the life thread.
2. The consciousness thread.
3. The creative thread, itself threefold.
4. The technical antahkarana, bridging between the threefold
personality and the Spiritual Triad.
4. The four stages of the Path
1. The stage of evolution
2. The stage of the Probationary Path.
3. The stage of the Path of Discipleship.
4. The stage of the Path of Initiation.
Yet it is one and the same
entity which participates in and is responsible for all the differentiated
aspects, steps and stages - experimenting, experiencing and expressing
consciously in every one of these stages or modes of life, until
the fourth initiation. Then consciousness itself gives place to
life, and yet remains itself.
To the above statement, add
the fact that it is the fourth kingdom in nature which undergoes
all that is indicated above and is conditioned by the four aspects
of the ONE SUTRATMA. Once this is grasped, the beauty of the symbolism
and the numerological relationships emerge significantly. [RI477]
Keep in mind; at the advanced
stage of the 4th step, there is no longer any pull or form attracting
the Monad outwards into manifestation. There remains only the
great pull of the consciousness of humanity as a whole and to
this, response is made via the completed antahkarana. Across the
Bridge the Monadic descent is made at Will, in order to serve
humanity and to carry out the Will of Shamballa.
At the 4th technical stage,
the point of "invocative tension", the living reservoir
of living energy, which is the initiate himself has been set in
motion by projected thought through the use of Will and the corresponding
Ray Word or Phrase of Power. The line of responsive Monadic projection
of energy is sent forth and makes contact with the lower projection.
Thus, at the successful culmination
of the 4th stage, the antahkarana is built because the tension
of the lower has been sufficent to evoke the attention of the
higher. When we contact that spirit energy which our Monad projects
via the Triad there will be no way in which the call of matter
or of form can evoke a response from our Monad. The vibration
of both projections will be so strong reciprocally speaking, that
contact between the "two projections" will be made in
a high point of meditation - a contact between the fused soul
and personality energy and the Monadic energy, working through
the Spiritual Triad. when the energy of the Monad is evoked,it
results in a downpouring towards the lower projecting agent, and
it is not, technically speaking, an act of projection per se.
The act of projection is the
work of the "shadow and the reflection." When this finally
does occur, at the culminating moment of the 4th technical stage,
it does not constitute what we might imagine to be a moment of
psychological crisis, but is in the nature of the production of
a "Flame of Light", a realization of transcendence,
liberation, and a recognition of the esoteric fact that one has
now reproduced in Himself the conscious replication of the One
There is no longer, at this 4th
juncture, the sense of personality and soul or of ego and form,
but simply the One, functioning via all seven united cables as
a point of dynamic Spirit energy by means of the Great Way of
the Rainbowbridge Path of Light. The salient initiatory task is
now to begin the process of attaining identification of the Monad
of Sanat Kumara within our planetary sphere with the Purpose and
the Will of the Lord of the World, and proceed.
When successful, the head center
and the center at the base of the spine will be in direct unimpeded
relation; monadic will and personality will likewise will be in
a similar unimpeded relation, via the antahkarana. The four of
the quaternary is lost in the 1000 of the Universal; the fourfold
form nature is perfected.
The Cosmic Analogy
The twelve constellations
of the zodiac, each with its own interrelations, peculiar to
its own integral Life, form - each of them - part of a triangle
of energies. Each of these triangles is a unit in itself but
in conjunction with the other triangles forms part of that major
quaternary which is the cosmic analogy of the quaternary of
the One Life - soul and the dual psychic nature, called in some
of the esoteric books kama-manas, plus the vital nature. These
four are the expression of the One Ineffable Cause. [EA 609]
AIR.............MIND...........LIBRA, AQUARIUS, GEMINI
WATER......ASTRAL......CANCER, SCORPIO, PISCES
EARTH.......VITAL..........CAPRICORN, TAURUS, VIRGO.
The four of the perfected Cosmic Quaternary of the One Ineffable
Cause is lost in the 1000 of the Universal. The 12 constellations
of the zodiac are simultaneously the expresion of the 12 petalled
highest head center in the 1000 petalled brahmaranda Lotus of
"When the adept enters
through the "luminous door" he has before him four
very peculiar and esoteric IDENTIFICATIONS. These identifications
eventually bring about within the jewel, which is essentially
the true spiritual unit, a momentous happening, and are undergone
within the monadic consciousness after the transcendence of
the atmic sheath. These four identifications are connected with
the fourfold lotus of the solar Logos, or with His twelve-petalled
heart center. This lotus is sometimes called the "heart
of the Sun," and concerns the subjective sun. It is not,
however, possible to say more along this line." [TCF1246]
These four Identifications are
only undergone upon this particular Path and are each preceded
by three lesser identifications which make a totality of twelve
Identifications, corresponding to the twelve-petalled lotus.
It will be noted by the accurate
student that we are now discontinuing the use of the word "initiation",
which has to do specifically with consciousness and therefore
with duality, and are utilizing a word which connotes synthesis,
though very inadequately. Students would do well to learn that
this process of building the antahkarana is one of the means whereby
man, the trinity, becomes a duality.
When the task is completed
and the antahkarana is definitely built - thus producing perfect
alignment between the Monad and its expression upon the physical
plane - the body of the soul (the causal body) is completely and
finally destroyed by the fire of the Monad, pouring down the antahkarana.
There is then complete reciprocity between the Monad and the fully
conscious soul on the physical plane. The "divine intermediary"
is no longer required. The "Son of God Who is the Son of
Mind" dies; the "veil of the temple is rent in twain
from the top to the bottom"; the fourth initiation is passed,
and there then comes the revelation of the Father.
This is the final and far-reaching
result of the building of the bridge which is, in reality, the
establishing of a line of light between Monad and personality
as a full expression of the soul - between spirit and matter,
between Father and Mother. It is evidence that "spirit has
mounted on the shoulders of matter" to that high place from
whence it originally came, plus the gain of experience and of
full knowledge, and of all that life in material form could give
and all that conscious experience could confer. The Son has done
His work. The task of the Savior or of the Mediator has been completed.
The unity of all things is known to be a fact in consciousness,
and a human spirit can say with intention and with understanding:
"I and my Father are one." [RI476]
